Live Updates - Islanders vs. Canadiens

7:00 p.m. - Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum - Uniondale, NY

Pre-Game
Lubomir Visnovsky is out tonight for personal reasons. Radek Martinek will take his place and skate with Thomas Hickey.

1st Period
5:21: Tomas Plekanec was wide open in front to receive a feed from Alex Galchenyuk from the corner. Plekanec one-timed it past Evgeni Nabokov to make it 1-0.

9:17: Galchenyuk just wound up with a seat on the Islanders bench courtesy of Casey Cizikas. Fans loved that hit.

15:02: Stoppage in play. Lots of back-and-forth in the neutral zone. Shots: NYI 5 MTL 7

17:47: Travis Hamonic gets the game's first penalty. Two minutes for interference. Montreal goes to the power play.

17:49: Well that was quick. Plekanec goes away for a while. Tripping is the crime. 4-on-4 for 1:58.

End 1st: Montreal goes to break with a 1-0 lead. 5-on-5 play when we resume play in a few minutes. Shots: NYI 6 MTL 9.

2nd Period
0:49: Frans Nielsen draws a slashing penalty on Alexei Emelin. Islanders will get their second PP of the game (the first one was two seconds long).

1:23: Matt Moulson scores from the right circle and it's 1-1. Mark Streit made a pass from the left boards all the way across and Moulson picked his corner. John Tavares was not on the ice for a Moulson tally for just the second time in over two years.

9:47: Colin McDonald gets held by Ryan White, and the latter will sit for two minutes. Isles are 1-for-2 on the PP.

11:11: Okposo draws tripping on Lars Eller. 5-on-3 for 36 seconds. First unit starting off for the Isles.

12:10: And Matt Martin scores on the power play to make it 2-1. Somewhat of a broken entry into the zone, and Brad Boyes saw his line mate with eyes in the back of his head. Martin was unobstructed in the slot for his second of the season.

12:58: Michael Grabner picks up a rebound to make it 3-1 with his ninth marker of the season. Original shot came from the stick of Thomas Hickey, and Colin McDonald will get the secondary helper.

16:28: With Andrew MacDonald already sitting in the box, Streit goes away for cross-checking. 5-on-3 for 20 seconds.

16:49: Montreal scores on a PK Subban blast from the left point and it's 3-2. MacDonald was out of the box one second before, so we'll go back to 5-on-5. Michael Ryder picks up his second assist of the night on the play.

18:15: Frans Nielsen on a 2-on-1 hits the post from the right wing. You could hear that one from Queens. shots: NYI 15 MTL 20

End 2nd: Islanders escape with a 3-2 lead. Shots: NYI 15 MTL 22. Tavares is in the box for over a minute to start the third period.

3rd Period
3:34: Most of the pressure has been in the Islanders zone. Shots: NYI 16 MTL 24

4:30: Bench minor to the Islanders for too many men on the ice. David Ullstrom is serving the minor. Montreal is 1-for-4 on the man advantage.

6:07: Islanders cannot clear the puck, and it winds up in the back of the net to tie the score at 3-3. Subban's shot from the point was stopped by Nabokov, but Brian Gionta cleans up the mess to knot things up.

7:56: Radek Martinek picks the perfect time for his first goal of the season. After his point shot was deflected and crossed up Price, he got it right back and fired it off a defender to give the Isles a 4-3 advantage.

13:22: Montreal bringing the heat still, but Isles are up 4-3 for now. Shots: NYI 19 MTL 30.

15:38: Montreal getting called for too many men. They had about 8 on the ice. Isles 2-for-4 on the PP.
