The Wethersfield, CT, native also appeared in 35 American Hockey League games this season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, adding 27 points (six goals, 21 assists).

The Edmonton Oilers selected McDonald in the second round (51st overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft.
