Islanders Prospect Report
An in-depth look at the prospects in the New York Islanders system
Ryan Strome & Jesse Graham (Niagara IceDogs, OHL)
The Oshawa Generals eliminated Ryan Strome, Jesse Graham, and the Niagara IceDogs in five games despite the two Islanders prospects tallying three points each. Strome was reassigned Monday to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, where he will make his professional debut.

Andrey Pedan (Guelph Storm, OHL)
During a five-game opening round loss to the Kitchener Rangers, Andrey Pedan led the Storm with four points (three goals, one assist). The 2011 3rd-rounder also led his team with 16 penalty minutes and was one of just four players to finish with a positive plus/minus.

Mitchell Theoret (Barrie Colts, OHL)
Mitchell Theoret and the Colts had a blistering first-round performance, sweeping the Kingston Frontenacs in four games. Theoret finished the opening round ranked second on his team in scoring with eight points (five goals, three assists)

Griffin Reinhart (Edmonton Oil Kings, WHL)
The Oil Kings proved why they were the Eastern Conference’s top-seed by eliminating the Kootenay Ice in five games. Reinhart, the Isles’ top selection in 2012 led Oil Kings defensemen in scoring with four points (two goals, two assists). Edmonton will now face-off against the Medicine Hat Tigers in the conference semi-finals.

Brenden Kichton (Spokane Chiefs, WHL)
Only five games were needed for Brenden Kichton and the Chiefs to qualify for the second round of the playoffs. The Western Hockey League’s leading scorer among defensemen in the regular season tallied five points (two goals, three assists) in the series.

Anders Lee & Robbie Russo (Notre Dame, CCHA)
St. Cloud State University upset Anders Lee, Robbie Russo, and top seeded Notre Dame in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament by a 5-1 margin. Lee finished the season as the Fighting Irish’s top scorer with 38 points (20 goals, 18 assists).

Scott Mayfield (Denver, WCHA)
Mayfield and the Pioneers had an early exit from the NCAA Tournament as they fell to the University of New Hampshire 5-2 in the first round.

*All Canadian Hockey League (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) Playoff Series are best-of-seven format. The NCAA Tournament is single-elimination.
