Season series (0-0-1)
The Islanders and Jets have only met once this season, with the lone game coming back in January. The Isles held a two-goal third period lead, but Winnipeg closed the deficit and won thanks to Evander Kane's overtime goal. John Tavares had a goal and two assists, while Matt Moulson also found the score sheet multiple times (one goal, one assist).  Evgeni Nabokov made 30 saves in the loss.

Evander Kane - Left wing

The fourth overall pick in 2009 is proving his worth with 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 37 games. The Vancouver, BC native is second in the NHL with 150 shots and recently tallied four points (one goal, three assists) in a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Kane has been a major factor as to why the Jets are close to bringing playoff hockey back to Winnipeg for the first time since 1996.

Islanders Storylines
•The Isles return to the Coliseum for a quick one-game home stand following a 3-1-0 road trip.
•With just one point, the Islanders can take sole possession of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. A win would result in a tie with New Jersey for the 7th seed.
•Winnipeg boasts the league’s 8th-worst power play. The Islanders are 12-3-1 when scoring at least one PPG.
•John Tavares’ 22nd goal of the season keeps him in second place among NHL goal scorers and just three behind league leader Steven Stamkos.
