Toronto could officially clinch a playoff berth tonight with a win. Islanders are one point behind Ottawa for sixth in the Eastern Conference, with the Senators in action as well. Evgeni Nabokov and James Reimer will start between the pipes. Eric Boulton goes in for Jesse Joensuu up front.

1st Period
1:26: Quick penalty to Mark Fraser for tripping Andrew MacDonald.

1:58: Isles will go to a 5-on-3 for a while after Cody Franson gets whistled for boarding Matt Moulson.

2:17: Reimer robs Matt Moulson from in front. He took a feed from Tavares across the slot.

4:28: Early returns show that Reimer has his A-game. Travis Hamonic shoots one through a screen after the teams get back to 5-on-5 and Reimer holds on. He made two saves during the power play (officially), but it looked like he stopped three or four.

5:05: Joffrey Lupul drives the net and scores. He came in down the left wing and got around the defender, forcing Nabokov to shift to his left, opening up the five-hole. 1-0 Maple Leafs.

6:41: Cody Franson nets one on the power play to make it 2-0 Toronto. Phil Kessel dished down low, and Tyler Bozak backhands an area pass in front where Franson powered it home.

7:44: Matt Carkner and Frazer McLaren drop the gloves. Both fighters land a couple of punches before wrestling to the ice.

7:48: Off the ensuing faceoff, Eric Boulton and Colton Orr go toe-to-toe in a multiple-rounder. Huge fight. 43rd fighting major of the year for the Leafs. Boults landed a few solid blows in that one.

9:07: Welcome home, Brad Boyes. 2-1 game now. John Tavares spun around from the right circle and somehow threaded a pass through to the other side for Boyes, who ripped it home. Lubomir Visnovsky got the secondary assist.

14:29: In a penalty-filled first period, Leo Komarov is the next to go off. Isles will go to the power play.
PP: NYI: 0-for-3. TOR: 1-for-2.

15:03: Moulson ties it at 2-2. Brad Boyes' quick shot from up top got redirected to Reimer's left. 15th of the season for Moulson, eighth on the power play. Visnovsky with the other helper again.

17:24: Tavares scores, and it's 3-2 Islanders. What a turn of momentum. Tavares and Boyes broke in on a 2-on-1, and the defenseman Jake Gardiner played the pass. Tavares' shot went under the arm of Reimer and bounced across the line. All three on the Mississauga line have scored now within 8:16. Second game in a row and the second time all season the Isles have scored three in the first period.

End 1st: NYI 3 TOR 2. Shots: NYI 19 TOR 5.

2nd Period
5:37: Michael Grabner gets his weight into one from the high slot, but Reimerreaches out to glove it.

14:18: Frans Nielsen has had the best two chances of the second. He just hit the post from the right circle.

14:40: Tavares' second of the game puts the Isles up 4-2. Boyes drove wide and drew a defender before centering to Tavares. He had a second to place his shot low. 26th of the year for JT.

End 2nd: NYI 4 TOR 2. Shots: NYI 34 TOR 10.

3rd Period
1:10: Josh Bailey wrist shot from the left circle, but Reimer snaps the glove up to save another goal.

10:22: Nielsen gives the visitors some breathing room - it's 5-2. Isles had a 3-on-2 rush, led by Kyle Okposo, who wheeled around a defender in the neutral zone, took the line and found Nielsen in the middle. Nielsen wound up and fired it through for his fifth of the season.

15:17: Bailey with a heck of a chance off a 3-on-2. He was the trailing man on the attack, and received a pass in the middle following some nice play by Nielsen and Okposo. Reimer gets across to make the stop.

18:53: With Boulton already in the box, the Islanders are going to go two men down. Delay of game on Nabokov. Isles will finish this one 3-on-5.

19:34: Dion Phaneuf makes it 5-3 during what was essentially a 6-on-3 power play (pulled goalie). Phaneuf lined up a one-timer from Phil Kessel and Nabokov couldn't save it through traffic.
