It's been almost two full years since the Islanders and Canucks last met, and even longer since they played on Long Island. In the teams' last head-to-head meeting in Vancouver, the Canucks scored early in each period en route to a 4-1 win. Matt Moulson scored the Islanders lone goal, with assists from Michael Grabner and John Tavares.

Henrik Sedin - Center

The playmaking half of Vancouver's lethal Sedin twins, Henrik Sedin is tied for the league lead with 10 assists and tied for second in the NHL with 12 points. Henrik has points in nine of the Canucks' 10 games, and is riding a five-game points streak. The Ornskoldsvik, Sweden native has finished in the NHL's top-10 in assists six times, and led the league in the category three straight seasons from 2009-2012.

• John Tavares has points in seven straight games (four goals, six assists).
• Andrew MacDonald played 30:25 on Oct. 19 vs. Carolina, becoming the first Islander to play 30 minutes in a game decided in regulation since April 2007 (Tom Poti).
• The Islanders are 51-36-13 all-time in the regular season against the Canucks, and 4-0 in the playoffs.
• The Islanders are 7-for-21 (33.3-percent) on the power play at home.
