LISTEN: JACK CAPUANO MORNING SKATE AUDIO 10/22/13

11:10: Matt Donovan, on his opportunity to play more minutes: "Lubo is very offensive and runs that first power play, so I'm going to get my chance to show what I can do offensively. Hopefully I can play well tonight."

11:15: Andrew MacDonald, on everyone on the back end having to step up in Visnovsky's absence: "I think a lot of the responsibility is going to be on us to realize that we're playing those minutes. We have to be smart about when we're joining the rush. I think with Lubo being out, it's going to be by committee. No one is going to eat up those 20 minutes he plays. Everyone has to be prepared to step up and play a little bit more."

11:18: MacDonald, on slowing down the Canucks top line of Ryan Kesler, Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin: "Obviously they read off each other very well and their hockey IQs are good. With those types of players, you have to be quick and physical on them and try to take away their time and space. They've had a lot of success over the years."

11:22: MacDonald, on what he's seen from John Tortorella's Vancouver team in video: "I think it's similar (to the way the Rangers were structured). They key on blocking shots. Their penalty kill looks the same as the Rangers' was. Most coaches, when they go somewhere, they have their own system that they take. I think we have some familiarity with it from playing against the Rangers. Obviously it's different personnel, but the structure and the framework is the same. It should be a good challenge. They have a good team over there."

11:35: John Tortorella just spoke to one of the largest media contingents I've seen around here in a while. Here's the new Canucks coach on what he's seen from his team through 10 games: "I thought we took a step back this last game. I don't think we played poorly, but we didn't play well in the areas we had improved in. We're still looking for some consistency."

11:39: Tortorella, on changing the culture of the team: "We're working on that. You've got to remember, it's a pretty good hockey club. It's been successful. I'd like to see us play with more grind. We've got some talented people. So we're trying to play both (using skill and grind). I think to win consistently in this league, you need that."

12:10: Henrik Sedin, on the new style of play under Coach Tortorella: "I think we're a little more aggressive this year than last. We play more zone defense, instead of man-on-man. It's taken a while to get used to, but I think we're getting better."

12:15: Henrik, on Roberto Luongo: "He's always been a great teammate of ours. We have never seen him as a problem. He and [Cory] Schneider handled it really well. They're both great guys. [Luongo] has won us some games, he's kept us in games. We all knew, even when he was maybe the backup lsat year, that he was a star goalie in this league."

12:22: Luongo, on his own performance this season: "I feel OK. Can I be better? Yeah, no doubt about that. I'm always working on that part. It's a process obviously.."

12:26: Luongo, on John Tavares and Matt Moulson: "You have to keep an eye on both of those guys. We can't give those guys any time and space. We want to make sure we're aggressive on them and take the body."
