Matt Donovan replaces the injured Lubomir Visnovsky in the lineup. Brock Nelson will come in for Michael Grabner, who serves the first game of his two-game suspension.

1st Period
2:26: Brock Nelson scores his first NHL goal. Islanders dumped it in deep, and Roberto Luongo misplayed it behind the goal. Puck wound up on the stick of Cal Clutterbuck, who wrapped around a slid the puck across the crease. Nelson finished the play to give the Isles a 1-0 lead. Peter Regin also with an assist.

4:41: Matt Moulson bangs home his fourth of the season on a power play and it's 2-0 Isles. John Tavares fed the puck down low to Frans Nielsen on the left side, who threw the puck on net. Moulson took two cracks at it before sliding it over the goal line from a hard angle.

4:57: 16 seconds later, the Canucks draw it back to within one. Evgeni Nabokov made the first save on a shot from distance by Dan Hamhuis, but Ryan Kesler scored on the put-back. 2-1 Islanders.

9:09: Jannik Hansen goes cross-ice with a pass for Daniel Sedin, and Daniel ties it at 2-2 with his third tally of the season from the left circle.

13:52: Giant save by Luongo on Thomas Hickey. John Tavares took the puck from a Canuck in the corner and found Hickey on the other side of the zone. Luongo flashes the glove to keep the score even.

End 1st: NYI 2 VAN 2. Shots: NYI 12 VAN 9. Islanders controlled the last couple of shifts, with Matt Donovan getting a good chance in at the end.

2nd Period
3:56: Henrik Sedin will sit two minutes for hi-sticking. Isles are 1-for-1 on the man advantage so far.

4:48: Moulson snipes one from the right side off a backhand no-look feed from Okposo, and it's 3-2 Islanders. New York is 2-for-2 on the power play. Frans Nielsen got the secondary assist, and he has two helpers tonight.

7:12: A feed in front for Zack Kassian winds up crossing the goal line. Referees are trying to decide if goaltender interference was a factor on the play. Referees rule no goal, and the building erupts.

12:39: 2-on-1 Vancouver attack features a lot debris in front of Nabokov, and Daniel Sedin's pass had eyes getting through Matt Carkner. Henrik Sedin gets the last touch on the tying goal. He banked it in off Nabokov to make it 3-3.

19:42: Chris Higgins scores on a rebound to make it 4-3 Canucks. Kevin Bieksa's shot from the right went off Nabokov's pad, but no one marked Higgins, who netted his third of the season.

3rd Period
5:47: Nabokov makes a big save on Alexander Edler, whose shot went across the grain. Shots: NYI 24 VAN 25.

13:42: Frans Nielsen hits Ryan Kesler in front of the Islanders bench, and he'll get two minutes for elbowing. Refs didn't earn any friends once the replay was shown in the building.

15:18: 25 seconds of 4-on-4 upcoming, then a 1:35 power play for the Islanders. Henrik Sedin called for his third minor of the game, this time a tripping minor.

17:18: Power play ends without further threat. Still 4-3 Vancouver.

18:48: Nielsen ties it on a rebound, and the building is jumpin' again. Luongo couldn't stretch out to make the second save. Original shot came from Andrew MacDonald at the right point. Okposo with an assist as well. 4-4 tie game.
