Mark Streit - Defenseman
Though he has just two assists through nine games, fans are all too aware of what the former Islanders captain can do. Streit led Islanders defenseman in scoring in each of the four seasons he spent on Long Island. The eighth-year defenseman played in his 500th NHL game on Oct. 24 vs. the Rangers, and is still hovering right around 20 minutes a night.
• John Tavares has points in nine straight games (four goals, eight assists).
• Matt Moulson has goals in three straight games, and leads the NHL with five power play goals. Moulson is riding a five-game point streak (five goals, three assists).
• Evgeni Nabokov posted 39 saves, his highest total of the season, in the Islanders 4-3 victory at Pittsburgh on Oct. 25.
• Radek Martinek registered two assists in his season debut Oct. 25 at Pittsburgh.
