The Islanders and Flyers split last year's season series with two games apiece. The teams met on the next-to-last day of the regular season, with Philadelphia skating to a 2-1 victory. John Tavares scored his 28th goal of the season, while Kevin Poulin turned aside 28-of-30 shots at the other end. The division rivals will go head-to-head four times before the end of the 2013-14 season.

Flyers player to watch
Mark Streit - Defenseman

Though he has just two assists through nine games, fans are all too aware of what the former Islanders captain can do.
Streit led Islanders defenseman in scoring in each of the four seasons he spent on Long Island. The eighth-year defenseman played in his 500th NHL game on Oct. 24 vs. the Rangers, and is still hovering right around 20 minutes a night.
Islanders Storylines
• John Tavares has points in nine straight games (four goals, eight assists).
• Matt Moulson has goals in three straight games, and leads the NHL with five power play goals. Moulson is riding a five-game point streak (five goals, three assists).
• Evgeni Nabokov posted 39 saves, his highest total of the season, in the Islanders 4-3 victory at Pittsburgh on Oct. 25.
• Radek Martinek registered two assists in his season debut Oct. 25 at Pittsburgh.
