The Islanders returned home to Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday morning and host the Nashville Predators tonight at 7:00 p.m. Here are some news, notes, pictures and quotes from today's skate.
Back Home: The Islanders stretch at center ice in Nassau Coliseum.
Kevin Poulin waits for shots during the morning skate.
Poulin Plays: Head coach Jack Capuano named Kevin Poulin his starter tonight. Poulin starts consecutive games for the first time this season.
Lineup: Capuano did not reveal his lineup changes - if any - for tonight's game. Follow @NYIslanders for the latest lineup updates before tonight's game.
Blockin' Shots: Andrew MacDonald leads the league with 67 blocked shots this season entering tonight's game.
"At the end of the day it's you standing between the puck and the possibility of a goal," MacDonald said. "There's a lot of desperation plays that are made and you really don't have time to think. It's just instinct to block the net."
From the Coach: "I think he's (Kevin Poulin) played well. We haven't given him a couple of starts back-to-back here and he's deserving of it."
"We were a top-10 (penalty kill) team at the start of the year and whatever happened, it's in the past and we have to move forward and get back to basics."
