Lineup Notes/Changes:
Head coach Jack Capuano is going with the same lineup from Saturday night. Capuano liked what he saw despite the OT loss, as the Islanders led in shots (39-30), hits (30-22) and won 58% of faceoffs.

Brock Nelson, Eric Boulton and Radek Martinek are out. Josh Bailey, Peter Regin and Calvin de Haan are in.

Anders Nilsson makes his second straight start in goal. The Swedish netminder stopped 27-of-30 shots in his first start of 2013-14.

Two-Minute Drill: The last two games between the Islanders and Penguins were decided in the final two minutes.

Isles Starters: Vanek-Tavares-Okposo, Hickey-de Haan, Nilsson
Pens Starters:
Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis, Orpik-Engelland, Fleury

1st Period:
4:28: No score, though each team has generated some extended zone time. Shots are 3-3.

9:53: NYI GOAL! Kyle Okposo backhands a puck on net with John Tavares crashing hard. It hits someone and finds its way through Marc-Andre Fleury. Play is reviewed, but called a goal. 1-0 Islanders.

12:55: NYI GOAL! Okposo winds up at the circle and blasts the puck through a screen. Fleury gets a piece, but it sneaks through. 2-0 Islanders.

18:05: PIT PP (Thomas Vanek - Two Minutes Holding the Stick) Penguins first power play of the game.

19:22: PIT PP (Aaron Ness - Two Minutes High-Sticking) Penguins go on a two-man advantage.

END OF PERIOD: Isles up 2-0 - both goals by Kyle Okposo. John Tavares has two assists. Penguins 5-on-3 for the first five seconds of the second period.

2nd Period:
:05: Vanek steps out of the box as the Isles kill off the first penalty.

1:22: Ness is out of the sin bin after serving the full two minutes.

5:00: Shots are 3-2 Pittsburgh in the second period and 13-10 overall.

14:21 Both teams have had chances, but no scoring or penalties to report.

14:49: NYI PP (James Neal - Two Minutes Elbowing). Neal's elbow sends the Isles to their first power play of the game.

16:49: Islanders spend most of the power play trying to enter the Penguins zone. No shots or chances on the power play. Neal is out of the box.

19:15 PIT PP (John Tavares - Two Minutes Cross-Checking) Pens PP: 0-2

19:44 PIT PP goal. Evgeni Malkin flips a no-look backhand pass from behind the net to James Neal who taps in the puck. No chance for Anders Nilsson. 2-1 Islanders.

END OF PERIOD: Isles lead 2-1. Shots are 18-17 Islanders.

3rd Period:
6:16: Penguins outshooting Islanders 6-0 in the third period.

6:42: PIT PP (Aaron Ness - Two Minutes High-Sticking) Pens pp 1-3.

6:53: Frans Nielsen is slashed by Kris Letang on a breakaway and awarded a shorthanded penalty shot!

6:53: Nielsen slows down, goes forehand, backhand, forehand, but can't raise the puck over a sprawling Fleury. Still 2-1 Islanders.

8:00: PIT PP goal. Malkin passes cross-ice to Crosby, who one-times a shot through Nilsson. Tie game.

8:37: Matt Martin (Roughing) and Brooks Orpik (Holding the Stick) each get two minutes and the teams play 4-on-4.

10:37: Martin and Orpik are out of the box.

13:16: Cal Clutterbuck and Evgeni Malkin each get two minutes for Roughing. Another stretch of 4-on-4 play.

18:13: NYI PP (Evgeni Malkin - Two Minutes Cross-Checking) Malkin taking liberties on John Tavares. Refs finally call a penalty.

19:36: Vanek gets two minutes for spearing after taking lots of abuse from Letang in front of the Penguins net. Vanek and crowd are furious about the call.

END OF PERIOD: Game tied 2-2. Penguins lead shots 30-23.

0:13: Islanders begin to kill off a 4-on-3 penalty.
