American Hockey League: Bridgeport Sound Tigers (9-10-1-3), 4th in Northeast Division, 12th in Eastern Conference)

It was a winning weekend for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, who beat the Utica Comets 5-3 on Friday and Hershey Bears 4-2 on Saturday. With the weekend sweep, the Sound Tigers extended their winning streak to four games.  Ryan Strome had seven points (2g/5a) over the weekend, propelling him to the top of AHL scoring while also earning his second consecutive AHL/CCM player of the week honor. Strome had three points (1g/2a) Friday while Alan Quine, Jon Sim, Mike Halmo, and Matt Donovan scored for the Sound Tigers. Goaltender Parker Milner turned aside 28 Comets shots for his first AHL win. On Saturday, Anders Lee scored twice, Kenny Reiter stopped 25 shots and Strome picked up four points (1G, 3A) in the win. Sim rounded out the scoring for Bridgeport Saturday, knocking in a rebound from Strome.

ECHL: Stockton Thunder (12-8-0-2), 2nd in Pacific Division, 5th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder split their weekend set with the Idaho Steelheads, losing 4-2 on Friday, but rebounding with a 4-3 win Saturday. The Thunder never held a lead on Friday and the loss extended their losing streak to five games. Stockton turned things around Saturday, as Nathan Deck and Joey Martin each scored two goals to snap the streak. Deck was named the first star while Martin, who scored the game winner, was named the second star.

AMATEUR PROSPECTS:


Adam Pelech - Erie Otters (OHL)

Adam Pelech had another great weekend for the Erie Otters, scoring three points (1g/2a) in two games. On Friday (Dec. 6) Pelech scored his eighth goal of the season in a 6-1 win over the Peterborough Petes. On Sunday (Dec. 8) the Islanders third round pick (65th overall) in 2012 had two assists and was awarded the third star in a 7-2 win over the Kingston Frontenacs. Pelech leads all Otters defensemen with 23 points (8g/15a) in 31 games this season.
