Pelech has Eight-Point Week:

Pelech didn’t miss a beat after returning from the World Juniors, notching eight assists in his first three games back with the Erie Otters. Pelech had two assists in back-to-back contests before posting four assists in Sunday’s 9-0 rout over Windsor. The second-round pick in 2012 is riding a five-game assist streak (11 assists) dating back to December. Pelech has eight goals and 24 assists this season and is the Otters highest-scoring defenseman.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATES

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  14-20-1-4, 4th in Northeast Division, 14th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers scored a 6-3 victory over their archrivals, the Hartford Wolf Pack, Sunday night. Anders Lee had a pair of goals 1:32 apart, while Aaron Ness, Andrew Clark, Chris Bruton and Joey Diamond all lit the lamp for the Sound Tigers. Goaltender Parker Milner made 25 saves and picked up his second career AHL win. The win over the Rangers’ farm team highlighted the weekend, as Bridgeport lost its two previous games. On Friday, the Sound Tigers fell 4-1 to the Manchester Monarchs and were shutout Saturday, 2-0, by the Portland Pirates.

Stockton Thunder: 18-12-0-4, 2nd in Pacific Division, 4th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder split their weekend series with the Utah Grizzlies, winning 3-2 in a shootout on Friday night. The shootout win was Stockton’s first of the season, as Joey Martin and Mitch Bruijsten scored in the bonus round and Brian Foster stopped all four Grizzlies attempts. Matt Bergland and Greg Miller lit the lamp in regulation while Foster stopped 30-of-32 shots. On Saturday, the Thunder lost the rematch 6-4. Bruijsten, Martin, James Henry and Garet Hunt all scored for Stockton.

Ryan Strome Named an AHL All-Star:

Ryan Strome has been named to the AHL All-Star roster for the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic. Strome appeared in 23 games for the Sound Tigers this season and scored 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists). Before being recalled by the New York Islanders on Dec. 11, Strome was on a franchise-record nine-game point-scoring streak and was leading the AHL in points. Strome scored his first NHL goal Jan. 6 against Dallas. The AHL All-Stars are set to take on Swedish Hockey League team Farjestads BK in St. John’s, Newfounland on Feb. 12.

Kenny Reiter Agrees to Terms:

Goaltender Kenny Reiter has agreed to terms on a one-year, two way (NHL/AHL) contract through the remainder of the 2013-14 season. The Pittsburgh, PA, native is 7-7-2-1 this season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
