AMATEUR PROSPECTS:

Ryan Pulock has four-point week:

Brandon Wheat Kings captain, Ryan Pulock, picked up four points (one goal, three assists) in two games this week. The Islanders’ 2013 first-round pick (15th overall) scored the tying goal in the third period helping the Wheat Kings come back and beat the Swift Current Broncos 6-5. Brandon is now tied for first place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATES

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  15-22-1-4, 4th in Northeast Division, 14th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers ended their weekend on a high defeating the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-1 on Sunday. John Persson scored the game-winner and added two assists while Parker Milner made 31 saves for his third win of the season. Mike Halmo, Mike Cornell, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Chris Langkow rounded out the scoring for the Sound Tigers. On Friday, Bridgeport fell to the Binghamton Senators 6-2. Anders Lee and Mike Halmo scored for the Sound Tigers while Ryan Strome picked up two assists. On Saturday, the Sound Tigers fell to the Hershey Bears 5-3 despite goals from Riley Wetmore, Mike Keenan and Bouchard.

Kirill Kabanov loaned to MoDo:

Islanders prospect Kirill Kabanov was loaned from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to MoDo of the Swedish Hockey League. Kabanov, 21, scored three goals for the Bridgeport in 16 games this season and scored eight points (four goals, four assists) in nine games for the Stockton Thunder (ECHL). The Islanders’ 2010 third-round pick (65th overall) skated in 32 games for the Sound Tigers in 2012-13 and scored nine points (two goals, seven assists).

Stockton Thunder: 20-13-0-5, 2nd in Pacific Division, 4th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder beat the Bakersfield Condors 4-3 in a shootout on Stockton’s annual Teddy Bear Toss night. Goaltender Brian Foster stopped 14-of-17 shots in regulation and four-of-five during the shootout. Joey Martin scored the game decider in the shootout for the Thunder. Alex MacLeod, Joey Miller, and Greg Miller each scored during regulation. On Sunday, Jan. 19, the Thunder fell to the San Francisco Bulls 3-2 in a shootout. Foster stopped 42-of-44 shots in the game, but allowed two goals in the shootout. Shawn Boutin and Matt Bergland scored for the Thunder during regulation.
