2013-14 season series (2-2-0)

The Islanders are 2-2 in their season series with the Rangers, with the road team winning each of the four games. In their most recent outing, the Isles and Rangers took their rivalry outside, skating at Yankee Stadium for the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series. Brock Nelson opened the scoring late in the second, but the Rangers scored two unanswered goals for the 2-1 win. Evgeni Nabokov made 32 saves in the loss.

Derek Stepan - Forward

Derek Stepan’s five-game point streak (three goals, five assists) came to an end Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, but the Rangers center is still playing some inspired hockey. Stepan has 35 points (10g/25a) in 55 games this season and could surpass his career-high (51 points) by the end of the campaign. The Hastings, MN, native was named to the US Olympic Team in January and has one goal and three assists in four games against the Islanders this season.
