The Islanders are 2-2 in their season series with the Rangers, with the road team winning each of the four games. In their most recent outing, the Isles and Rangers took their rivalry outside, skating at Yankee Stadium for the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series. |Rangers player to watch
Derek Stepan - Forward
Derek Stepan’s five-game point streak (three goals, five assists) came to an end Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, but the Rangers center is still playing some inspired hockey. Stepan has 35 points (10g/25a) in 55 games this season and could surpass his career-high (51 points) by the end of the campaign. The Hastings, MN, native was named to the US Olympic Team in January and has one goal and three assists in four games against the Islanders this season.
• Series Wrap-Up: This is the last regular-season meeting between the Islanders and Rangers this year. The teams are 2-2 through four games and the winner of tonight’s game will win the series.
• Back Indoors: After playing outside at Yankee Stadium, the teams return indoors at Madison Square Garden, where the Islanders have won twice this season and three straight overall.
• Top Scorers: John Tavares is second in league scoring with 64 points (23g/41a), while Kyle Okposo is tied for sixth with 57 points (23g/34a).
