Hickey and Nelson Attend Ice Hockey in Harlem Event
The Islanders players were on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with program supporters.
On Wednesday night, Islanders Thomas Hickey and Brock Nelson ventured off Long Island and into Manhattan to attend Ice Hockey in Harlem’s 2014 Winter Sports Celebration. The current Islanders were joined by Isles alum including current television color commentator Butch Goring at the event where they signed autographs and took pictures with supporters of Ice Hockey in Harlem program. Ice Hockey in Harlem offers programming that assists children in Harlem by helping them take advantage of educational and athletic opportunities provided through youth sports. Student-athlete participants are taught the fundamentals of hockey, while engaging in a healthy, active lifestyle to help broaden their life experiences. Wednesday’s event also featured players from the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils, as all three tri-state teams came together to support a great cause and grow the game of hockey.
