Ryan Strome\'s all-star performance highlights this week\'s prospect report.
ALL-STAR STROME:

Ryan Strome was one of the 20 AHL players selected to face Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League in the 2014 AHL All-Star Game

Strome and the AHL All-Star Team defeated Färjestad BK 7-2 in the 2014 AHL All-Star Game on Feb. 12 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Strome scored twice during the contest, his first coming at 10:08 of the first period and his second coming in the game's final three minutes. The previous day Strome shared the win in the accuracy event during the skills competition by hitting all four targets in six shots.

AMATEUR PROSPECTS:
Stephon Williams Post Shutout:

Stephon Williams and the Minnesota Mavericks shut out the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers 4-0 Saturday night. The sophomore goaltender  earned his fifth career shutout and first of the season stopping all 10 shots that came his way. The Mavericks outshot Chargers 65-10 and was the first time since Dec. 28, 2002 the Mavericks had at least 60 shots in a game. The win made it five in-a-row for Minnesota State who now stand 19-13-0 on the season and 17-7-0 in WCHA play.


PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATES

Bridgeport Sound Tigers:  22-24-1-4, 4th in Northeast Division, 11th in Eastern Conference

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers had back-to-back wins this weekend against the Springfield Falcons and Albany Devils. Defenseman Matt Donovan led the way with two goals in Bridgeport’s 5-2 win over the Falcons on Sunday. Johan Sundstrom, Jake Newton and Ryan Strome each picked up goals of their own as well. Goaltender Anders Nilsson stopped 33 shots on Sunday in the Sound Tigers’ victory over the Devils. Ryan Strome scored for the third consecutive game, while Matthew Pistiili and Aaron Ness also scored in the first period. In the second, Johan Sundstrom and Andrew Clark scored just 16 seconds apart to extend Bridgeport’s lead. The Sound Tigers never let up as Anders Lee and Scooter Vaughan each scored in the third period.

Stockton Thunder: 24-20-0-5, 2nd in Pacific Division, 6th in Western Conference

The Stockton Thunder shut out the Utah Grizzlies 1-0 Saturday night in their only game of the weekend. Goaltender Parker Milner stopped all 17 shots that came his way in the contest. After a scoreless first period Greg Miller collected his team-leading 17th goal of the season late in the second period.
