Islanders player to watch
Ryan Strome - Forward

Ryan Strome’s is showing versatility in his first season with the Islanders. A natural center, the Mississauga, ON, native played wing on Thursday and scored the game-winning goal. Since his second call up on Feb 24, Strome has played in all situations, helping the Islanders to an 18-11-5 record. Strome was recently named to the AHL’s All-Rookie team after posting 49 points in 37 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Devils player to watch
Tuomo Ruutu - Forward

Tuomo Ruutu was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Andrei Lotionov and a conditional third- round selection in the 2017 NHL Draft at the NHL trade deadline. Due to injuries, Ruutu has been given the opportunity to play with Jaromir Jagr on the Devil’s top line. The Vantaa, Finland native had his four-game point streak (two goals, two assists) snapped Monday against the Flames.
2013-14 season series (0-1-1)

The Islanders are 2-2-0 against the Devils this season. In their most recent outing, the Islanders bested the Devils in a shootout, winning 2-1 at Nassau Coliseum. Anders Nilsson made 23 saves while Frans Nielsen scored the Isles lone goal in regulation. Nielsen and Brock Nelson both converted in the shootout for the Isles.
