Leduc Signs Entry-Level Deal
Fourth-round pick in 2012 signs three-year contract
The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Loic Leduc has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.
Leduc, 19, scored 15 points (six goals, nine assists) and a plus-13 rating in 63 games this season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Mercier, QC, native split his fourth season QMJHL season between the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Rimouski Oceanic. Leduc was dealt mid-season and recorded two assists with a plus-9 rating in 11 playoff games with Rimouski.
The New York Islanders selected Leduc in the fourth round (103rd overall) of the 2012 National Hockey League Draft. In 202 career QMJHL games, the 6’6, 212-pound defenseman has 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) and 143 penalty minutes.
