Kaapo Kahkonen’s size – 6’2” 201 pounds – and technical ability make him an appealing prospect in scout’s eyes. The Helsinki, FIN native entered the season as a high-profile goalie prospect, but saw his numbers take a dip in 2013-14. He posted a .912 save percentage in 38 games for the U20 Espoo Blues in Jr. A SM-Liiga. Kahkonen went 9-2 in the playoffs for the Blues en route to the SM-Liiga Jr. A Championship.

Kahkonen plays butterfly with good size and good technical ability. Able to stay big as he moves around the crease.

At 6’3”, 189-pounds, Andreas Englund brings size to the blueline. The Stockholm, Swe., native utilizes his frame and is a prototypical shutdown defenseman.  Englund, 18, advanced rapidly through the Swedish ranks over the past two seasons and currently skates for Djurgarden in Allsvenskan. When Englund fills out his tall frame, he’ll impose his will in the back end and in the corners.

Left-handed shooting defenseman who plays a more North American style of game than you normally sees from the Swedes. Hockey sense, desire and passion are fantastic with this guy. He does little things, plays the body and almost has that unsung hero type of game to him.
Alex Nedeljkovic was rock solid for the Plymouth Whalers this season, improving his save percentage despite the Whalers dropping 30 points in the OHL standings. Nedeljkovic supplied quality goaltending and guided the Whalers to the postseason.  Scouts rave about his natural athletic ability and how the Parma, OH, native never gives up on a play. Nedeljkovic led the US to gold at the U18 tournament where he posted a 1.84 goals against average.

Plays more of a hybrid style where his first instinct is to wait for the shot before deciding to stand up or go to the butterfly. His crease movement is strong so he is in position to make saves and does a real good job of controlling rebounds.
