Roland McKeown set new career highs in his second season on the Kingston blueline, scoring 43 points (11G, 32A) in 62 games. McKeown joins the play like teammates, but some scouts laud his positioning and think of him more as a defensive defenseman. Either way, McKeown’s all-around game is attracting attention.

McKeown is a very versatile rear guard who displays a unique ability to activate and get involved offensively with the puck. He's a very smooth skater with a physical edge to his game when he gets pushed. He's mart with the puck too, knows when to make that tape-to-tape pass as well as get it off the glass. More of a two-way guy, but don't be surprised if points come from him down the road.

Jack Dougherty adjusted well to the USHL in his rookie season, scoring 12 points (4G, 8A) in 23 games for the U.S. National Team Development Program. Dougherty also chipped in four points (2G, 2A) during Team USA’s gold-medal run at the U-18 Tournament. The 6’1”, 186-pound defenseman is slated to play for the University of Wisconsin next season.

Dougherty brings a solid, no frills approach to the game and is the kind of guy coaches drool over. He's a big-time minute muncher that does everything well. He doesn't have that one exceptional trait outside of the fact that he's so versatile that he can - and most  likely will - play every scenario asked. He's a guy that you may not notice, but at the end of the day plays over 25 minutes.
Massapequa native Sonny Milano adds some local flavor to the 2014 Draft, as the Long Island product had a standout season with the US National Team Development Program. Milano scored 39 points (14G, 25A) in 25 games, nearly doubling his output in a third of the games from the previous year. Milano has fantastic hands and can create offense individually. He’s set to join Boston College next season after graduating from the NTDP.

Milano is simply so skilled he can do many things with a puck most others can't. One can only imagine how much time this kid spends with a stick in his hand. He's creative on the ice, slippery and as dynamic as anyone in this draft.
