Last One: Tonight is Fan Appreciation Night at the Nassau Coliseum as the Islanders close out their 2009-10 season.  With the emotion that comes from playing the defending Stanley Cup Champions, all of the Islander fans hoping to cheer on a victory in the last game will raise the intensity level.

  SIDNEY CROSBY
Once again, on Thursday night, Sidney Crosby showed why he belongs in the Who's Hot section for the second time in the same week.

On Thursday night, Crosby scored a goal and three assists to lead the Penguins to a 7-3 victory over the Islanders.

He ranks third in the entire league in scoring with 104 points (49 goals and 55 assists).

Prior to Pittsburgh's 1-0 defeat to the Atlanta Thrashers last night, Crosby was riding a three-game scoring streak with two goals and eight assists.
JOHN TAVARES
Last night, the Islanders dropped their second straight game, allowing seven goals.  Thursday night, the Islanders were beaten 7-3 by Pittsburgh and last night it was the New Jersey Devils handing the Islanders a 7-1 defeat.

The lone bright spot was the play of John Tavares who had an assist in the game to give him 51 points this season.

Tavares has taken the lead in scoring for the Islanders with one game remaining in their season.  The 22 goals and 29 assists in 81 games this season is two points ahead of teammate Kyle Okposo.

He has a goal and seven assists in the Islanders' last seven games.

30 Gs: Now that Islanders' rookie center John Tavares has hit the 50-point milestone this season, the next player on the cusp of reaching a career mark is Matt Moulson who has 29 goals with one game left.  This is Moulson's first full season in the NHL and is only a goal away from reaching the 30-goal mark.
The Streit Advantage: Islanders' assistant captain Mark Streit enters tonight's game against the Penguins as the team's leading scorer against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.  He has a goal and four assists for five points in five games.
