Islanders @School

The Islanders Organization values the importance of education and believes it must come first in a child’s life.  The “Islanders @School Program” brings the game of hockey to elementary school classrooms. The @School program incorporates special assemblies that teach students the importance of making smart decisions, teamwork, staying healthy, getting a good education and hard work.

Islanders School Assembly Program

The Islanders School Assembly stresses the importance of making smart decisions, eating healthy, staying active as well as treating other with respect.  During this interactive assembly, the Islanders help students realize why being committed to making smart decisions is important in school and life.

During the 2014-2015 season more than 1,500 students participated in the program.

Islanders School Day

Select elementary schools are visited by members of the Islanders team for a special assembly.  During this event the Islanders are paired off for the community initiative, and speak to students on topics ranging from the importance of education, staying active, eating healthy and making smart decisions in life.
