Islanders @SchoolThe Islanders @School program brings the game of hockey to classrooms, allowing teachers to educate students with a more creative approach while working under the New York State Curriculum. The @School program incorporates fun-filled lesson plans and special assembly programs, including the We’re All Islanders School Assembly and Islanders School Day, which teach students the importance of teamwork, a good education and hard work. New to the @School program during the 2010-11 season was Blades for Grades, which rewarded students for receiving high marks with tickets to Islanders games. More than 45,000 children participated in the @School program this past season. Click here to visit Islanders@School. |
Orange & Blue + You AssemblyThe “Orange & Blue + You” Assembly will show students how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle and be the best you can be, as well as the importance of helping others. It is when a person can achieve these things that they are able to help themselves and those around them. During this assembly, Islanders arena hostess Dina and mascot Sparky interact with students while delivering this important message. The Islanders are partnering with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for the 2012-13 season. Messages from the NCMEC will be displayed throughout the assembly. |
