Islanders @School

The Islanders Organization values the importance of education and that it must come first in a child’s life.  The Islanders @School program brings the game of hockey to elementary classrooms across Long Island.  The @School program incorporates special assemblies that teach students the importance of making smart decisions, teamwork, staying healthy, a good education and hard work. More than 25,000 children participated in the @School assembly programs this past season.

Courier of Courage

Many young children across Long Island have experienced a hardship in their lives. Despite life's struggles, these kids have overcome obstacles to get where they are today. The "Courier of Courage" program acknowledges these children for the battles they've faced and the hardships they've overcome. The "Courier of Courage" will deliver the game puck to the NHL officials before select Islanders homes games during an on-ice presentation. These special guests will be escorted to the ice by an ambassador of youth hockey on Long Island and a member of the PAL Jr. Islanders youth hockey organization.
