Giving back to the community is a cornerstone of the Islanders family at every level. Players participate in a variety of different charitable events throughout the year, below are programs different players have implemented.

Bailey's Buddies Program
Islanders forward Josh Bailey kicked off Bailey's Buddies at the start of the 2010-11 season. At each home game, Bailey hosted either a child recovering from illness or an underprivileged child for a once-in-a-lifetime VIP experience. During the game, the Bailey Buddy sits near the player entrance, high-fives the players as they walk onto the ice, receives an Islanders gift bag with a Bailey t-shirt and meets Josh after the game. Josh signs autographs, takes pictures and sometimes tours the locker room with each Buddy.
