An introduction to our hockey programs

Welcome to Islanders Iceworks, the premier skating facility on Long Island and home to the New York Islanders!

Islanders Iceworks is proud to offer our 2012-2013 Hockey classes. Our NHL caliber facility along with our many experienced instructors is the perfect place for children of all ages to learn the game of hockey. Mini Islanders is an ideal introduction for children ages 4-6 to impart basic hockey skating and puck handling skils, as well as the basic skills of the game while in a fun educational atmosphere.

If your child is more advanced then Hockey 101 is a perfect fit for them. Geared towards children ages 6-12, Hockey 101 focuses on the skills that are necessary in a scrimmage, while still concentrating on the individual aspects of the game such as stick handling, power skating and agility. Once your child has successfully completed Hockey 101 he/se will be ready for Hockey 201. The Hockey 201 class is meant to polish your child's skating and puck control through on-ice conditioning so that they are ready for competitive hockey.

Also available is our NY Islanders House League, which teaches the child individual positioning along with the rules of the game during fun and exciting scrimmages. Finally, Islanders Iceworks offers a class for the adult looking to get into competitive hockey. The Adult Hockey Development programs are for players ages 18+ (with skating experience) where they will be immersed in an in-depth class that will help them learn the required skills to compete in leagues for the adult player.
