Hockey 101 & 201
Hockey 101 (ages 6-12)
Prerequisites: 1 semester Mini Islanders or Learn to Skate, appropriate experience and/or coaches recommendationEquipment: Full hockey gear
Hockey 101 is a challenging and stimulating learn to play hockey program. Our basic hockey course targets players with limited hockey experience who want to develop the skills necessary to participate in our Islanders Iceworks House League. Players will be exposed to skills such as hockey stops, crossovers, inside and outside edges in addition to stick handling, passing and shooting mechanics. Full registration will include an official Islanders Iceworks Hockey Academy jersey.

Hockey 201 (ages 7-12)

Hockey 201 provides novice players the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. This rigorous and intensive program will introduce developing players to more intermediate skills that include (but are not limited to) backward crossovers, backward puck handling and more advanced outside edges. Skaters will alsobe exposed to odd-man situational drills such as one on ones, two on ones and three on ones. Full registration will include an official Islanders Iceworks Hockey Academy jersey.
