Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round (51st overall) of the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Signed as a free agent by the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 1, 2011.

LAST SEASON:
Scored 49 points (14g/35a) in 68 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during his fifth American Hockey League season and first with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton...Led the team in assists and finished third in points...Ranked third on the team with a plus-13 rating...Co-led the team in playoff scoring, posting 13 points (6g/7a) in 12 games...Also appeared in five NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins on two seperate call-ups in January and February...Played in his second AHL All-Star game, netting an assist for the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

2010-11:
Led the AHL in goals with 42 during his fourth professional season and first with the Oklahoma City Barons...Added 16 assists for 58 points while appearing in all 80 games...Finished third on the team in points...Made his Calder Cup Playoffs debut, recording two points (1g/1a) in six games...Appeared in his first AHL All-Star Game, netting an assist for the Western Conference All-Stars.

2009-10: Scored 23 points (12g/11a) in 76 AHL games during his third season with the Springfield Falcons...Also appeared in his first two career NHL games with Edmonton...Made his NHL debut on Nov. 27 vs. San Jose...Scored his first NHL goal (R. Luongo) on Nov. 28 at Vancouver.

2008-09: Scored 22 points (10g/12a) in 77 AHL games with Springfield during his second professional season, establishing a career high in penalty minutes with 65...Led the team in games played...Also appeared in his only three career ECHL games, netting two assists with the Stockton Thunder.

2007-08: Made his professional debut with Springfield, appearing in 73 AHL games and recording 23 points (12g/11a)...Recorded an assist in his first professional game on Oct. 6 vs. Worcester...Scored his first professional goal on Oct. 26 at Hartford.

COLLEGE:
2006-07:
Led Providence College in goals with 13 during his senior year competing in the Hockey East...Added four assists for 17 points...Served as co-captain.

2005-06: Led Providence in scoring during his junior season with a career-high 28 points (9g/19a) in 36 games.

2004-05: Matched his freshman-year output with 16 points (11g/5a) despite appearing in just 26 games with Providence as a sophomore.

2003-04: Was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and earned Providence’s Most Valuable Freshman award after netting 16 points (10g/6a) in 37 games.
