Selected by the Islanders in the second round (60th overall) of the 2006 National Hockey League Draft. Agreed to a one-year contract on June 15, 2012.

Agreed to terms with HV71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Elite League on July 1, 2011.

Scored 29 points (13g/16a) in 50 games with HV71 Jonkoping during his first season in the Swedish Elite League, after playing the previous three seasons in North America...Finished third on the team in goals, fifth in points and fifth in penalty minutes (58).

2010-11: Split his third season in North America between the Islanders and Bridgeport Sound Tigers, tallying 24 points (8g/16a) in 35 American Hockey League games as well as nine points (6g/3a) in a career-high 42 NHL games…Was recalled from Bridgeport on Nov. 18. At the time of the recall, he was leading Bridgeport in scoring with 11 points (4g/7a)…Scored his first NHL goal/point of the season on Nov. 26 vs. New Jersey…Had a two-point game (1g/1a) on Dec. 18 vs. Phoenix…Was returned on loan to Bridgeport on Dec. 25 and recalled from Bridgeport on Dec. 30…Was returned on loan to Bridgeport on Jan. 18…With Bridgeport, had a five-game point-scoring streak (3g/4a) from Jan. 22–29…Recalled from Bridgeport on emergency basis on Feb. 9…Returned on loan to Bridgeport on Feb. 24…Recalled from Bridgeport on Mar. 17…Had a two-game goal-scoring streak from Mar. 31 - Apr. 2.

2009-10: Scored a career-high 48 points (14g/34a) in 70 games during his second season in Bridgeport...Also skated in 11 games with the Islanders, making his second-career NHL appearance and scoring one goal.

In his first season with Bridgeport, posted 20 goals and 19 assists in 71 games...Also appeared in five Calder Cup Playoff games, tallying three points (2g/1a)...Scored a goal on his first-career shot in his NHL debut on Mar. 2 vs. Colorado...Recorded his first NHL assist and earned his first multi-point game (2a) on Mar. 4 vs. Tampa Bay...Appeared in seven total NHL games with the Islanders.

2007-08:  Established SM-Liiga career-highs in goals (17), assists (18) and points (35) in his fourth and final season with Assat Pori in Finland...Made his North American debut in Bridgeport’s final game of the season.

In his third season with Pori, finished tied for fifth in goals (9), sixth in assists (17) and tied for fifth in points (26) in 52 games.

Played in 51 games for Pori and totaled 12 points (4g/8a), while compiling 57 penalty minutes...Recorded two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 14 playoff contests to help Pori win a silver medal.

Played his first full season in the SM Liiga with Pori at the age of 17, recording one goal and one assist in 39 games.
