"Simon has a right shot, which is always a plus for a defenseman. At 6-2, 175 lbs he has a lot of size to fill. Simon is a smart defensive player, but also has an offensive upside. He makes that first pass well and plays on the power plays. Last year as a 17-year old he logged 30 minutes of ice time a game, but we expect he'll play even more this season. The coaches on Shawinigan loved his attitude and character. We're glad to have picked Simon in the seventh round, and look forward to seeing his potential once he fills out a bit.
