ISLANDERS TRANSACTIONS: Selected by the Islanders in the fifth round (125th overall) of the 2011 National Hockey League Draft. Signed an Entry-Level Contract on May 29, 2012.

Appeared in his first 10 NHL games with the Islanders at the end of his second professional season, after spending the majority of the campaign with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League... Scored 16 points (12g/4a) in 46 games with Bridgeport... Missed a total of 18 games in November and December with an upper-body injuiry... Recalled from Bridgeport and made his NHL debut on Mar. 27 at Tampa Bay... Scored his first NHL goal on Apr. 5 vs. Washington (B. Holtby).

CAREER:  2012-13: Scored 29 points (17g/12a) in 65 games as a rookie with Bridgeport (AHL)... Finished third on the team in goals (17), fourth in power-play goals (4) and seventh in points... Scored game-winning goals in two of the first three games of the season (Oct. 12 at Connecticut, Oct. 20 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton)... Registered his first pro fight against Kyle Jean on Nov. 11 vs. Connecticut... Posted a six-game point streak (3g/3a) from Dec. 14-27...Notched his first career two-goal game in a 5-4 loss at Springfield on Jan. 4...Appeared in only three games in March due to injury. 

JUNIOR: 2011-12: Led the Red Deer Rebels in scoring with 58 points (23g/35a) in 70 games during his third season in the Western Hockey League...Established a career high in assists...With Red Deer, recorded 12 multi-point games...Had season-high, eight-game point-scoring streaks from Oct. 28 - Nov. 13 (8g/9a) and Jan. 21 - Feb. 4 (4g/5a)...After Red Deer’s season, signed an amateur tryout contract with Bridgeport (AHL)...Scored eight points (4g/4a) in 12 regular season games...Made his professional debut on Mar. 21 at Binghamton...Scored his first professional goal on Mar. 24 at Springfield...Appeared in two Calder Cup contests.  2010-11: Led Red Deer with 33 goals and ranked fourth on the team with 61 points during his second season in the WHL…Added five points (2g/3a) in nine playoff games…Had 15 multi-point games, including six three-point efforts...Recorded a hat trick on Jan 23 vs. Kootenay. 2009-10: Scored 11 points (7g/4a) in 62 games with Red Deer during his rookie WHL campaign...Selected 41st overall in the 2009 CHL Import Draft.
