David Ullstrom Since being recalled from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on February 25, David Ullstrom has found himself on the left wing of center Frans Nielsen, opposite right winger Josh Bailey. He has fit in almost seemlessly on the newly created unit and recreated chemistry that he'd found earlier in the season with Bailey. In 19 games with the Islanders this season, Ullstrom has five points (2g/3a). Before the call-up, Ullstrom had 41 points (17g/24a) in 67 AHL games, so look for the scoring to continue to translate to the NHL. At 6"2, 195 lbs., Ullstrom's game has an edge. He works hard in the corners, finshes checks and has the skill and speed to make plays. |
Ilya Kovalchuk The Russian star snapped a nine-game scoring drought when he put a pass from linemate Zach Parise pased the glove of Henrik Lundqvist to get the Devils on the board in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. He also set up a beautiful 2-on-1 for Jacob Josefson and Ryan Carter; the latter would score his third of the seaon. Kovalchuk leads the Devils in scoring with 64 points (26g/38a). In his NHL career he has 32 points (16g/16a) against the Islanders. |

![]() Jack Capuano on what the Islanders need to do against the Devils: "They have great separation in their offensive zone play. They have the ability to puck protect so well. You're going to have to do a good job blocking pucks becuase they are going to have puck possession. They are going to hem you in and they are going to have extended zone time. we have to make sure we play the interior and branch out and block lanes."
