 Matt Moulson With a first period score Tuesday night, Moulson picked up his 30th goal of the season, hitting that mark for the third consecutive season. Moulson became the first Islanders player since Ziggy Palffy to score 30 goals in three straight seasons. Moulson has seen his goal and point totals increase every year since joining the Islanders in 2009-10. He is 28th in league scoring with 59 points, a career high. His consistency and durability are two of Moulson's best attributes, as he has appeared 234 straight games for the Islanders. |
 Claude Giroux The Flyers All-Star center is enjoying a career year, with 80 points (25g/55a) in 65 games. Giroux leads the NHL in assists and matched his career high in goals with a tally against New Jersey on Sunday. Giroux is on a tear, racking up three goals and 15 assists in his last 13 games, including five assists against the Buffalo Sabres on Feb. 16. This season against the Islanders, Giroux has five assists. |

 Final Flight: In the final meeting between the two clubs, the Islanders have an opportunity to split the season series with the Flyers, something they haven’t done in the last four seasons. With two wins at Wells Fargo Center, the Islanders ended a 13-game losing streak in Philly and took a tremendous step forward against a team that has had their number.
Milestones: Matt Moulson and John Tavares both reached the 30-goal mark Tuesday night against Washington, giving the Islanders two 30-goal scorers for the second straight season (Last season: Moulson and Grabner). Moulson became the first Islander since Ziggy Palffy to score 30 goals in three straight seasons (1996-98) and Tavares hit 30 for the first time in his career. Moulson is one goal shy of his career high, set last season. Travis Hamonic recorded a goal and two assists against Washington, setting a career high with his first three-point game. The 51 Million Dollar Man: Ilya Bryzgalov is on fire for the Flyers, posting three straight shutouts as part of a six-game winning streak that included a fourth shutout on Mar. 4. Philadelphia’s masked man hasn’t allowed a goal in 196:13. The Russian netminder lost to the Islanders on Feb. 7 in a shootout, but did not surrender a goal in regulation and won the teams’ next meeting Mar. 1. Bryzgalov appears to be over his mid-season funk and has been on top of his game for the Flyers down the stretch. |
 Matt Read, Claude Giroux and Andrej Meszaros each had three-point nights as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Islanders 6-3 Mar. 1 at Wells Fargo Center. Read scored two goals, including the game-winner, while Meszaros, Jaromir Jagr, Scott Hartnell and Sean Couturier also contributed goals for the Flyers. Josh Bailey scored twice for the Islanders and Kyle Okposo rounded out the scoring. The loss ended the Islanders two-game win streak in Philly.
