During the 2007-2008 season, Bethpage Federal Credit Union has partnered with the New York Islanders Children's Foundation "Checks for Charity" program.

For every body check that an Islanders player tallies during the season, Bethpage Federal Credit Union will donate $5. That means that if the Islanders complete the season with 2,000 hits, Bethpage Federal Credit Union will donate $10,000 to the Islanders Children's Foudnation.
