Sparky made his way down to the Newbridge Ice Rink to visit some of his friends who would be participating in hockey games and classes that morning. From 9am to 10am, Sparky was on hand, playing with the kids, signing autographs, and taking pictures with anyone who came to visit.

The New York Islanders’ Family Fan Fest made another stop at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Friday, December 21th as a part of their attempt to help get Islanders fans into holiday mode. Fans doing some last minute shopping who walked by the Disney Store were able to get the chance to meet Sparky and some of the Ice Girls as well as get some great Islander prizes.

Bruno Gervais took time out of his busy schedule and made his way into Syosset to visit his friends at Southwoods Middle School to be a part of their “Spirit Week.” From 8am to 10am, Bruno talked to the children about the importance of good sportsmanship.

With only a week before Christmas, the children of Belmont Elementary in North Babylon were treated to an early gift as the "We're All Islanders" school assembly program made a stop at their school. Over the course of two seperate assemblies, each student in the school, from K to 5 got to sit in and here from the pros the importance of working as a team.

| Islanders Make Annual Visit to Local Hospitals |

Another wonderful Islanders tradition took place Monday afternoon. With the Islanders not competing again until Wednesday, when they host the Buffalo Sabres at the Nassau Coliseum, the entire team paid their annual visits to local area hospitals to cheer up those kids who are not fortunate enough to be at home during the holidays.

When you come to the Islanders game on Saturday, December 15th at 7PM vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, be sure to bring presents! The Islanders, WBAB and the John Theissen Foundation are holding a toy drive during the game to benefit sick and underprivileged children during the holiday season. Representatives will be stationed around the concourse of the Nassau Coliseum. All fans that bring 3 or more unwrapped, unopened toys will receive 1 voucher per person for the Saturday, December 22nd game vs. Washington Capitals. On Friday, December 14, the Family Fan Fest and KJOY radio had an extra special part to their set up over in Roosevelt Field mall. Islanders forward Jon Sim sat in from 4pm to 5pm and signed autographs and took pictures with all fans that stopped by the great set up located just outside the Disney Store.

Before the big matchup with Pittsburgh on Saturday night, Sparky and the Ice Girls first traveled out to Massapequa to make a stop at one of their new favorite stores, Crazy Freddy's. From 12pm to 2pm, the Ice Girls and Sparky were on hand to meet and greet all the fans and customers who stopped by and were having fun taking pictures and signing autographs. Be sure to check out Crazy Freddy's kiosk at an upcoming Islanders game and enter a chance to win an autographed bike signed by the Islanders team!

The New York Islander Family Fan Fest traveled to East Rockaway High School to help aid in a fundraiser that was very important to the small community. From 6pm to 10pm, fans were able to stop by the high school's gym in an effort to raise money to help build a new playground at Center Avenue Elementary School.

Sparky made his way down to Far Rockaway to pay a visit to some of his friends who are stuck being in the hospital so close to the holidays. From 2pm to 3pm, Sparky wandered the halls of St. John's Epsicopal Hospital, stopping into the rooms of many of the children to wave hello and try to make their holidays a little more special. Be sure to check the website again next week to see other hospitals the Islanders and Sparky will be visiting during the holiday season!

Class was in session for the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Woodland Middle School in East Meadow this morning, but rather than the usual math equations, spelling tests, and pop quizzes you would expect, they were instead directed to the auditorium for a special lecture from Islander alumni Steve Webb and Eric Cairns.

As tough and irritating as Monday mornings may be for students was not the case for the children of William Buck Elementary School in Valley Stream this morning. Rather than waking up to do math problems and go over this week’s vocabulary words, the children were instead sent to they gym where they would be treated to an assembly run by Islander alumni Steve Webb.

On Saturday, December 8, Sparky made his way out to the Dolan Center in Greenlawn to be a part of the Dolan Family Health Center’s Cancer Cares annual holiday party. Sparky visited the children between 11am and 2pm and was a ton of fun for the kids to be around.

The Islander Ice Girls joined the fun at Mulcahy's on Wednesday as they attended the big John Theissen Holiday Party that took place from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The festivities started with a live broadcast of the Mike and the Mad Dog radio show, and then were kicked into high gear after with some great live auctions.
