ST. LOUIS (AP) - Mike York's contributions in his first season with the New York Islanders hadn't been showing up much on the score sheet.
That all changed Tuesday night.
York scored two goals and added three assists for his second career five-point game, lifting the New York Islanders to a 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues.
York, who entered the game with 13 points, also had five points on Jan. 23, 2002, against Boston when he played for the New York Rangers.
``It was no different than any other night,'' said York, who also scored the winning goal Sunday at Detroit. ``Sometimes they're going in and sometimes they're not. Tonight, they were.''
Islanders coach Steve Stirling said it was good to see York rewarded.
``His production hasn't been what he would like or what we would like,'' Stirling said. ``But through all that, he still does the little things, still kills penalties, still does the things we need him to do.''
Mark Parrish added two goals and reached two milestones. His first gave him 150 NHL goals and 100 with the Islanders. Jason Blake and Arron Asham also scored, and Rick DiPietro made 31 saves for New York, 7-3-1 in its last 11 games.
The Islanders have won four straight road games for the first time since 2001. DiPietro said the team was lucky to get this one.
``We did some positive things, but overall I don't think that was one of our better games,'' he said. ``We did a good job of capitalizing on our quality chances and that was our difference.''
Keith Tkachuk had a goal and two assists for St. Louis. Eric Boguniecki and Simon Gamache also scored for the Blues (5-16-3), who continue to struggle.
``It's just been a frustrating year,'' Tkachuk said. ``It's been a tough year and we've just got to fight through it.''
St. Louis goalie Patrick Lalime had another rough night, allowing four goals on 13 shots. He was replaced by Curtis Sanford after Parrish scored his second goal with 1:31 left in the middle period that made it 4-2 and gave the Islanders some breathing room.
``Thank God we got the fourth,'' Stirling said. ``I was hoping to get to the end of period 3-2. To get to 4-2, sort of got us over the hump.''
York got the Islanders going when he scored off a scramble in front while Lalime was down and out of position at 4:38 of the first period. York scored again at 16:36 of the period, while the Islanders were on the power play, when he deflected in Radek Martinek's shot.
Then with less than a minute remaining in the opening period, York and Parrish broke in 2-on-1 at the end of a penalty kill. York slid the puck to Parrish on the right wing, and he knocked it home at 19:24 to make it 3-0.
``It's always good to get off to a lead and get those goals,'' York said. ``It wasn't a great period, but we came away with a 3-0 lead.''
St. Louis got back in the game late in the second period when Boguniecki and Tkachuk scored consecutive power-play goals to make it 3-2. But Parrish scored on the power play with 1:31 left in the second period, and Blake and Asham followed with goals early in the third to make it 6-2.
Notes: St. Louis, who outshot the Islanders 34-23, fell to 2-10-2 when outshooting its opponent. ... New York is 11-5-1 when scoring first, while the Blues are 1-10-3 when they allow the first goal. ... The Blues were without leading scorer Petr Cajanek (18 points), who missed the game with a groin injury.
